This class provides a welcoming introduction to the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, grappling, and ground fighting while helping students develop strength, coordination, confidence, discipline, and fitness.

What You’ll Learn

Students will be introduced to the essential foundations of BJJ, including:

  • Proper BJJ stance, movement, and positioning
  • Breakfalls and safe movement on the mat
  • Basic escapes and defensive techniques
  • Guard positions and control
  • Takedown and takedown-defense fundamentals
  • Basic submissions and submission defense
  • Positional control and transitions
  • Practical ground self-defense
  • Controlled partner drills

What Does “Full GI” Mean?
Students train wearing a traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu GI, allowing them to learn both traditional BJJ techniques and the unique grips, controls, and positions associated with GI training.

No previous BJJ experience is required. Our goal is to help new students learn the fundamentals step-by-step and become comfortable on the mat.
